What we do:

DBV is a self-advocacy group that is run by and for DeafBlind people in Victoria. Activities include:

  • Deafblind World – experiential deafblind awareness workshops
  • Deafblind café – a monthly peer support group
  • Advising government and service providers
  • Developing and distributing resources
  • Peer mentoring

 

Preferred Access: The Deafblind Victoria office is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 4pm. Visitors are encouraged to make an appointment to make sure that someone is available to meet you. Let us know your preferred mode of communication (e.g spoken English, tactile Auslan, etc.).

Opening Hours: Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 4pm.

Membership Cost: Membership is free for any deafblind person in or from Victoria. All activities for members are currently free. Deafblind World workshops can be arranged for a fee – contact DBV to discuss your organisation’s training needs and arrange for a quote.

Accepts volunteers? DBV has an active volunteer program. Volunteers with some Auslan skills are preferred. Contact the volunteer coordinator (Alex) for more information: dbvalexs@gmail.com

Accepts donations? DBV appreciates any donations! From June 2023, donations to DBV will be tax deductible. Donations can be made by direct deposit to:
