What we do:

ABC Friends Victoria engages in activities to raise awareness and inspire action to fight for the ABC. The organisation is a non-partisan, not for profit, volunteer and membership-based organisation.

ABC Friends has local groups across Victoria which provide vital local engagement and support.

We advocate and educate in support of the ABC, Australia’s iconic national broadcaster

Preferred Access: Appointment or referral via phone or email for example? Primary contact is best by phone or email, and visits are welcome.

Opening Hours: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 10:00AM – 4:00PM

Membership Cost? (1 Year – concession $20, individual $30, household $50) (3 Years – concession $50, individual $80, household $120)

Is there a charge for services? No

Accepts volunteers? There are many ways you can volunteer to help ABC Friends Victoria.

Activities may take place at our South Melbourne Office, around the state or in your own home if you prefer. We have tasks that all ages and abilities can help us with, regardless of location. Experienced members will always be on hand to help you and you won’t be asked to do anything you’re not comfortable with.

The ABC is under very serious threat – from politicians, commercial media organisations and certain lobby groups.
The ABC is the most trusted, admired and valued national institution.
Large scale sackings have already occurred due to Government cuts to the ABC budget and more are planned.
ABC Friends are working hard with parliamentarians to build political support.
